Did we really need further proof Hollywood is full of kooks?

Scientology and Tom Cruise “believes modern psychiatric medicine derives from an ancient alien civilization’s plot to drug and enslave humanity.”

Read this short article on MSN. After this article I can never take Tom Cruise serious again.
Scientology foes blast Cruise.

5 interesting facts about Scientology.

1. L Ron Hubbard is the person who created this cult. He was a science fiction writer born in 1911 and died in 1986.
2. According to Hubbard and Scientology, millions of years ago, an intergalactic ruler called Xenu rounded up the populations of 76 planets and sent them to Earth where their bodies were dropped in volcanoes and vapourised with nuclear bombs. Their spirits now cling to human beings, causing all mental traumas.
And it is the belief in that that drives the sects millions [ 100,000 at most world-wide] of members.
3. Hubbards academic background.
Although he claimed to have graduated in civil engineering from George Washington University as a nuclear physicist, university records show that he attended for only two years, was on academic probation, failed in physics, and dropped out in 1931. It is also claimed that he obtained his Ph.D from Sequoia University in California, which was later exposed as a mail-order diploma mill
4. Scientology started as a fake "self-help" psychiatric sham in the 1950s called "Dianetics" by the convicted felon L. Ron Hubbard. When profit from Hubbard's "Dianetic clinics" fell drastically after the initial fad waned, L. Ron Hubbard pursued what he called "The religion angle" and turned his fake medical practice into a fake "religion."
5. L. Ron Hubbard at first insisted his new business was not a religion. "Scientology has opened the gates to a better world. It is not a psycho-therapy nor a religion," he wrote. The United States Internal Revenue Service agreed with him for over 30 years, denying the business tax-exemption status, after Hubbard sought protection against medical malpractice under the pretense of being a "religion." The United States Supreme Court agreed with the IRS; several courts throughout the USA and the world have also ruled, as a matter of law, that Scientology is not a religion nor a church

Key Celebrities of that follow this cult.
1. Tom Cruise
2. John Travolta
3. Jenna Elfman from Darma and Greg
4. Leah Remini from King of Queens
5. Catherine Bell from Jag
6. Isaac Hayes Blues singer
7. Giovanni Ribisi Actor
8. Greta Van Susteren Fox News Channel
9. Jason Lee from My name is Earl.
10. Kelly Preston Actress
11. Lisa Marie and Priscella Presley daugher and wife of Elvis and Actresses

Plus many others.

Isn't it interesting how Hollywood thirsts for SOMETHING to believe and find refuge in. Almost makes them human!

Did anyone ever take Tom Cruise seriously?

Take MI:2 for example - that's a good case study in ridiculousness.

Or Cruise in Top Gun during the volleyball scene - yeah, I sure that halfling is a real imposing force on the other side of the net.

ha ha. I love the volleyball halfling reference! Remember though, it was to the halflings that the whole realm of Gondor bowed.

That was my comment about the halfling - I'm sure you could tell by the kick-a humor.

I'm going to LA (the toilet-shaped state, not the city) this weekend to check out a possible internship opportunity, but I'm actually leaning more towards maybe two months in China. There are other people who would do the internship if I didn't, but no one (I know of) who would go to China in my place at this moment.
