Another Reason to Vote Republican.

John Kerry....if your not educated you will end up in Iraq.
Botched joke? I dont think so. A mask unveiled showing his disdain for the military. Yes. An aide to our enemies? To terrorists across the globe? Yes.
Another great reason to vote Republican in five days? YESSSS!!

At least our troops in the field can have some fun with it.

Victor Davis Hanson salutes these troops:

"One of the things I love about America is the spontaneous brilliance and humor that undermine all pretension. No better example was that wonderful banner from our brave and ingenious soldiers in Iraq...

20 million Americans must have seen it all over the Internet, and nothing sums up the nothingness of Kerryism better than those smiling soldiers. After seeing that, no wonder he's offering deer-in-the headlights apologies. This is a man who remembers everything and learns nothing.

Then there was the finger-in-the wind initial Democratic response: their supposedly slight ill breeze suddenly became a Katrina hurricane, and, Presto!, they were all over the airwaves demanding from poor Kerry the apologies that just a few hours ago they thought were not necessary.

As for Kerry — how quick the 24-hour metamorphosis from smugness to defiance to purported contriteness! At his earlier blame-the-wing-nuts-and-Rush-Limbaugh press conference, he thought he was a strutting, strong-jawed Napoleonic general leading his troops to rout the evil Bush-Cheney Prussians, and then, alone, suddenly turned around — and Mein Gott in Himmel!! — his Old Guard was heading for the hills."

John Kerry is educated and it was a joke. In no way was he saying the troops are uneducated and blamed them for being stuck there. He was speaking about the idiot president and all in his cabinet who have led us into being stuck in a war in Iraq through their fictitious lies. I thought you were smarter than that Jordan.

You're right, Kerry is educated. But he is educated enough to know not to make jokes like that this day and age. It was a mistake that he has to deal with. Jordan is just as entitled, to share his opinion, as Kerry was.

Thanks PB.

Anonymous, your opnion is always welcome here but I do wish you had the courage to sign your name to it.

Let's look at your comment point by point.

About Kerry. He is educated but not as smart as Bush.
The fact is that George W. Bush and John Kerry both went to Yale, where Bush had a higher grade-point average. Bush also scored higher than Kerry on intelligence tests that both took in the military. Gore went to Harvard, where he finished in the bottom fifth of his class two years in a row. Look it up.

What has the media been telling us for 6 years? That Bush is an idiot. Well, if you actually had a clear head not polluted by biased media then you would also have a clearer picture of our very competent current President.

Can you tell me where the joke is?
Even IF he was referring to the President, there was no joke. Just the same old Kerry cowardly insulting a sitting President.
Did Kerry laugh or smile? No. Watch the video on U Tube.
There was no joke.

Botched joke?
These were his exact words.
“You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq."
That is a literal and direct insult on our troops. Only a liberal apologist would try to cover it up by saying he simply forgot one word, which is what the liberal media did by trying to save his neck.
Kerry simply was being Kerry. Someone who disdains our military and our troops. If he had never said something like that before then I would believe him. But he has a history of being belittling our troops.

Kerry has spoken against US soldiers in the past, including a 2005 interview on CBS’ Face the Nation when he accused US soldiers of “terrorizing kids and children” in Iraq. Direct Quote: "And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women.."

Kerry thinks that the American soldiers are the terrorists in Iraq, applying that unique gift of his for moral relativity once again to indict an entire deployment of soldiers as criminals of the same order as our enemy. And Bob Schieffer sat there, without even raising an objection to Kerry's smear. Had Kerry not shown a long track record of this kind of rhetoric in the past -- and had to answer for it repeatedly during last year's presidential election -- one could possibly believe it came out as a slip of the tongue. However, he obviously has never stopped believing that the American fighting man and woman represents the same relative evil as the Viet Cong, the Khmer Rouge, and al-Qaeda.

The Democrats need to answer for this outrage. Is it really the party position that American soldiers terrorize Iraqi civilians? Do they want the Iraqis to do it instead of us? Kerry has unmasked himself and his fellow anti-war zealots for the hypocrites they are.

On April 12, 1971, Kerry told the U.S. Congress that American soldiers claimed to him that they had, "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned on the power, cut off limbs, blew up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."

You see there is a pattern. A habit. An attitude. A tone.
And a very direct quote about our troops being stupid.
The man only revealed his true character by making that comment.

Last point-
Fictitious lies getting us stuck in Iraq. If thats the case then why arent all the Democrats who voted for the war idiots and liars? Wait, wait, not only that, why is the UN, the goverments of the world, including France, Russia, China, Great Britian all fictitious liars?????? They all believed the same intelligence Bush believed that took us to war.

No, my anonymous friend, it is you who should be smarter.

Well said, Jordan, well said.

I had this nice long write up about Kerry and then Blogger ate it.

Basically, John Kerry is a disgrace to this country. His attitude towards our president and our troops proves it. It was clear that his comment was not a joke. It was a serious insult to the men and women who are fighting for our country right now.

Can you imagine if had won in 2004? I shudder to imagine the possibility?

I was anonymous only because I disagreed with most of what you've said and I know I would be in the minority. Am I a liberal who hides behind minorities? I'm a liberal. And I think the "liberal" media has tried to put a spin on the word "liberal" as if it were profanity. I'm liberal and you know it. I'm also a minority who doesn't except negative changes to our Constitution. Its mine too.

Imagine being me and having to live in a country ran by one party you have great distaste for. One party who controls all branches of our government.. until our recent elections. Of course I rejoiced! I had lost all hope in our government. I personally felt very disenfranchised over the past six years. Call me a sore loser. I look forward to see what the new House will accomplish.

As for John Kerry, why does the "liberal" media make George Bush look so much like a repugnant buffoon? Maybe because that is his scheme. He stutters during his speeches like an idiot. Says the wrong words like "the Internets." I think he wants to look stupid so that the stupid people who vote for him will feel whole. Seriously, W. spins things to make him look like the normal numbskull who speaks like a kids sprinkler, piddling out words fed to him by Rove. The puppet master.

You're right! Bush is smarter than Kerry. Bush knows how to lie. And Kerry just tells it like it is. I still don't believe he said that in the way you assume he did. Yes, watch the video, I saw it played over and over on the "liberal" media... doesn't seem so liberal since Kerry's supposedly the biggest one... oh my bad, don't forget Harold Ford, Jr. Kerry didn't smile, if you've ever seen him speak, usually when he tries taking a blow at the Bush administration he does so with a straight face. And they punch back harder... spinning his words to secure their hierarchy.

I would love to see an America led by Kerry rather than live through this morose administration another day.

AP-
I'm really not in the mood to make a lengthy reply, other than to make the quick observation in the differences between our comments. I simply tried to state facts in my response. Apparently you had no response to the facts I stated but rather resorted to insults and calling names.

Jordan,
Your last response was not necessary. Yes, they resorted to name calling but your response dripped with such sarcasm and assumed superiority that you two are now on the same playing field. I thought you would be different, maybe it was just an off day.

Thats suprising, I thought I was being reserved with my comment. In fact I tried not to say anything offensive whatsoever. Thats why I pointed out that I didnt resort to name calling but rather stayed focus on facts. I dont think thats trying to be superior but rather trying to stay civil. It was not my intention to be sarcastic or superior with my reply. Only to point back to the facts rather than digress into insults. I guess discussing politics is one of those things that should be done in person. : )
But enough with politics for a while, lets enjoy the holidays!

PB,

It dripped sarcasm? Really? Jordan is a friend of mine in real life and I can assure you that there was no sarcasm in that at all. Unless you don't understand what sarcasm is.

I don't think you understand Jordan at all, despite how often you read his blog, if you took that from his response. I have to disagree when you say that it put him "on the same playing field."

I'm not trying to be rude, PB, but I feel that you are being a bit too sensitive when there's nothing to get upset over.

Hey its all good! : )
Its just hard to read into tone sometimes when reading things written on a blog, an IM, an email or whatever. For lack of better words, and because its still early for me and I havent finished my coffee; its all good. : ) There's been no offense taken on my part by anything that has been said, just a difference of opinion. Which is welcome on here, it makes for good discussion. : )

Yes, good discussion is always good. :)

So, what kind of coffee is it? I've started to gain a taste for good coffee. It's scaring me!

Larry,
You are correct, I do not know Jordan at all and have only experienced his and your comments via the blog. However, despite what you may assume, I do know what sarcasm is.

"I'm not trying to be rude, PB, but I feel that you are being a bit too sensitive when there's nothing to get upset over."

I felt as though anonymous was being attacked and wanted to defend a fellow reader. If you need to attack me b/c of that, that is fine but you now see why I felt I needed to back them up.

I will make sure to consider both yours and J's feelings before I post again.

Jordan,
Hope your holidays went well. Also, I agree that politics should be discussed in person. It's very hard to distinguish tones via text.
