Blood Diamond

Go see this movie. TWO very enthusiastic thumbs up. Its violent in parts, but its only depicting true representations of a civil war. This movie captures various elements about the human condition and it does so in a very engaging way.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou both do fantastic jobs as well.
I will comment more about the movie later...but for now, take my advice, go see this movie before its off the big screen.

Hey Jordan-I was browsing through covblogs and saw the title of your post. I loved this movie, and am proud to say that my engagement ring is conflict free. I've been trying to get more people not to get diamonds for their engagement rings, and I'm hoping this movie will help...the question is though (as you promote this movie), Jordan, is your wife's ring conflict free?

hey kiko!
good to hear from ya! and good to hear your getting a conflict free diamond! and yes my wife's diamond is conflict free. lets hope. i liked the movie for tons of reasons, including the overarching theme - be cautious your not supporting war lords.
there were great dynamics in leonardo's character, on the road to redemption, will he see the world and people in a better light, will he accept that he can give hope and make a difference in a world that seems so full of turmoil. simply put, a good movie.
hope things are going well for you, when ya getting married? and i am be be retarded, but do i know the fiance?

Hey hey!

Yes, yes, so fun to find old schoolmates in the blog sphere! It seems like you and your wife are doing well. As for me, I've actually been married for 5 months now...to Vincent Howard. I'm not sure, but I think he transfered in your last year at CC. Do you remember Brae Howard? She was in the Photo Lab alot...they are cousins.

Anyways, I know my ring is conflict free becuase I didn't get a diamond ring, for the same reason as the message in Blood Diamond. I've tried to convince other couples to go the non-diamond route too...and so I'm even more glad that a movie is finally out to help push the message.

Yes, I know Vincent. And Brae.. I thought you were married already, when you said engagement ring though it simply threw me off. : )
I agree, lets make sure these diamonds aren't from conflict zones.
Glad to hear your doing well and glad to see you included your blog link...the blogosphere is pretty cool.
